Welcome. I research, write, and teach 19th Century U.S. History, African American History, and Slavery in the U.S.
I am an Assistant Professor of African American History at the College of Charleston where I also serve on the executive board of the newly launched Center for the Study of Slavery in Charleston. I am currently working on my book on Slavery, Rape, and the Antebellum South.
